Democracy is not a project. The 1perspective programme has set a progress in motion but real work is just about to begin. Town institutions had convened and built up a communication channel and created a code of ethics. This is only the beginning however. It is now only up to them whether they can abide by it. It is up to them whether the code is developed further, whether they choose to involve further actors in the making. It is up to them whether the job started will be merely ticked off as complete on the task sheet or it will indeed have a long-term impact.

It is our belief that man is responsible for creating and shaping reality. No matter how harsh external conditions may be, there is always an opportunity to choose. The economic crisis, the sometimes unethical struggle between political parties, institutions and companies, as well as our daily hassles and busy lifestyles are mere pretexts but not supporting arguments against action. The philosophical foundation of 1perspective is that it is entirely up to us what our immediate world will be like tomorrow, one year from today, or after one generation. All the other outside circumstances are mere setting and decor.
